Question:

How should I plan for a trip to Paris later this year?

I'm going to Paris, France in mid-December of this year for about 2 weeks, maybe 3. I need help planning. What to bring, what to know, etc. I want to go to Nice, Milan, Lake Como, and London while I'm there, in no particular order. I need to know where I can find the best prices, without giving up class. I use VRBO.com and Priceline.com, just not sure if those are the best in this case. Is it better to sublet or get a hotel? Links to important sites would be helpful and just plain ole' knowledge works for me. I strongly prefer the advice of those who've been to Europe or have lived there or something of that nature. If you don't have any experience with this type of question please move on.

Thanks for your help.

  1. do them in order, as it saves cash . so fly to london, eurostar train to paris then train to nice then onto milan and lake como.

hotels will be cheaper, try travelocity or lastminute .com, genrally cheap

  2. Check Paris Hotels here

    http://hotels.americacheaphotels.com/Cit...

    http://www.americacheaphotels.com/France...

  3. For air fares try www.skyscanner.net ( it also has links to the airlines) and if you use the graph ( for a month) you can see which days are the cheapest to fly.

    otherwise try www.eurolines.com for buses.

You might find prices a bit up and down at this time depending on which days you travel and you will find that prices to the more winter resorts will be more than others.

I never got to Milan ( which I have heard does not have a huge amount apart from the cathedral)..I never got to Nice either...Paris has a lot to offer tho....to see and do and London is also the same and you can do some day trips if you are basing yourself in London to places like Cambridge, Oxford, Canterbury, Stratford upon avon etc.

hostels are the cheapest but these websites have cheap hotels as well www.hostels.com. www.hostelbookers.com or www.hostelworld.com.

You will find that France and the UK are quite expensive places so you will need to find ways to save money ( eg I found that it was literally more expensive to get to the ariport in England ( I was livign there for a while) than to fly to europe somewhere!!!)
