  1. Ok dude,  the best place for a holiday if you want purely scenery is probably the South Island as it has plenty of beautiful streams, lakes and high country (Lake Tekapo for e.g).  Tourist attractions?, well that depends on what you're looking for when you get here.  If you want traditional Maori attractions, then you're probably best to go to places like Rotorua (they have Whakarewarewa and a beautiful place called Orakei Korako), then maybe on to Whakatane and go down the East Coast for beaches and that.  Best restaurants here are probably the likes of the Lone Star ones or there's a beautiful little seafood restaurant in Petone on the Esplanade(can't remember what it's called though).  Best Hotels, well you've got the Sky City Hotels in Auckland and Hamilton which are quite expensive but are pretty nice or you may like the Novotel Hotels which are pretty good too, all over the country.

As for Sebcues comments, yes we do have some problems over here but so does every country, our problems are only more noticeable because we are a small country.  What Sebcue has said is TOTALLY racist so what is he on?  Don't be put off by narrow mindedness like that.  We are a beautiful country, but so is Australia.  Sebcue must have had a real hard time here which is a pity because the majority of us are pretty friendly.

  2. where abouts in new zealand? well i love in christchurch.... a really good resturant is the boat house, its really cheap- $20 for a 3 course meal and the food is just divine!!! also the dux de lux is really popular, there beers are good and the food is 2, but its vegiterian and seafood only. you should go up the port hills for a walk, not that great tho... in the town there is a tram which takes you around the city and the driver talks about its histry as you go, the avon river is very pretty and you can hire boats :) as for acomidation, it dependswhat class you wanted to stay in. i suggest you get 1  centeral close to town. myt c u lol

  3. New Zealand is made up of two main islands....so it would depend on where you are flying in to as to where to recommend you go/see....

Most pple fly into Auckland so I would suggest that you stay on the north island....

When are you going? Spring, summer??

More info is needed to give you appropriate recommendations
