Question:

How should I position my pool table?

The table will be located at one end of my rec-room, and I need to decide whether to break away from the remaining part of the room or towards it. [There is a TV in the "other" part of the room (on the wall, in no danger of getting hit).]

  1. have it parallel to the bath tub in your house its good luck

  2. Break into the wall. its never cool to have a bad break and lift a ball and have one roll across the floor. breaking into the wall you minimize the roll factor.

also if it points to the tv  you may get distracted and make a bad shot ;0)

  3. put the table in an empty room or where you haave a lot of romm to shoot so that when you move you cue stick back it wont hit the wall or whatever and it wont be as frustrating

  4. As long as you have ample room it doesn't really matter...all areas of the table should have no obstructions when shooting.

  5. Actually, the best thing you can do is to switch which side of the table you break from occasionally.  Most people have a tendancy to break from the same spot all the time, and the balls always rack from the same spot, so a tables cloth will usually wear at these places first.  By switching which side you break from occasionally, you'll wear the cloth more evenly, and not need to replace it as often.  As far as space goes, you really should have enough room around the table so that it doesn't matter which side you break from.

    Have fun and good luck.
