It will be mostly textbooks and maybe 10 of them or so. I do Not want to make this an ongoing business of mine. I want it to be as quick and easy on me as I will be preparing for classes myself and want to prepare these sales now. And of course I want to make as much money as I can since this will much of fund my textbook needs as well.

Thanks!

  1. You can price them at http://www.buy-used-textbooks.com/ and then use the description (not copy) of another book and you can not put up a picture to save time although you will probably get less money.

If you can sell them at Half.com though it is much easier.

  2. Hi!

The first this I would recommend you do BEFORE listing your auctions is familiarize yourself with common mistakes eBay sellers make.  We often think some rules don't apply to us or they aren't important, but they can make a HUGE impact on our sales.

There is a great ehow article about avoiding the most common seller mistakes and making more money.

    Here's the link:

    Good luck!

  3. you should also check the cost of postage as sometimes this can be very expensive for books, sometimes greater than the cost of the books themselves.

To prepare the books, just take a photo of each, and write a short description on ebay and set the starting price as the minimum you are willing to accept

  5. Ebay is moving tword fixed sales and with the new feedback and fee changes are forcing out many small sellers. I will explain more later.

You can list your item.  First do a search for the exact same items on Ebay and see what category you should be selling in.  Next look at the charged shipping fees of those auctions and also box up your items, weight them and go to the USPS website and calculate shipping costs from your place to florida, CA or the east coast to get a 'far' SH estimate.  Then take a picture of your item or more if needed so you can upload them to ebay.  Then you are all set to list your item.

A month ago Ebay changed the feedback system so that small sellers who get non positive feedback can very quickly be limited/paypal suspended.  Any ebay user must maintain a 95% feedback rating per month or their account is seller limited and paypal payments are frozen for 90 days.  Thus if you sell a few auctions in a month and get 4 feedbacks and one is only a neutral then you account is frozen because your 'positive' rating is only 75%.

This system is suppose to protect buyers but what it really is doing is the opposite by forcing out small sellers.  A large seller who gets 200 feedbacks a month still gets 10 negatives for s******g  buyers and still be ok while the small seller as described who gets one neutral gets the shaft.

So, sell at your own risk and be prepared to loose money, get ripped off and to bend over backwards to try to get a positive feedback from your buyer.  Also note that the change only allows the seller to give positive feedback to the buyer.  The seller cannot give neg or neutrals anymore.  That is a whole nother story about business ethics.

  6. you can sell them on half.com which is a part of ebay... its reallly easy to use, just put the book upc number in, they give you a stock photo and the book details and you just add the condition its in, etc. and sell it. I have done this with several of my college books and they sold fairly quickly.
