How should I redo highlights?

I'm a guy w naturally dark brown hair who currently has highlights.

If I wanted to revitalize those highlights, do I need to put the blonde color directly on my highlights, or should I just bleach parts of my hair again, and then add the color on top of that?

to revitalize those highlights you only need to put the colour where the regrowth is... dont go over the colour as it may make your hair look stringy n gross!!

You just have to put the blonde colour over your highlights.

If you bleached your current highlights they would go a much lighter colour and might end up looking fake even after you add the colour over that.
