Question:

How should I remove super glue residue on the bike bolts and the frame?

I accidently got it stuck on the stem bolts and doesn't want to un-s***w. Please help me!

  1. acetone. i always get tons of superglue on my hands and it works really well just put some on a cotton swab or something and rub the place


  2. Alcohol might do it. If not, try a stronger solvent.

  3. Acetone, for sure.

  4. You can break the superglue bond with a torch. Be very careful or you'll ruin the paint, and don't do it at all if you have a plastic (carbon fiber) bike.  

  5. Super glue shouldn't stop a bolt from twisting. It's strength is in tension (pulling apart) rather than shear.

    If you are having problems with removing the bolts, it ain't the super glue. If you just want to get rid of the glue residue use acetone.
