How should I resolve a problem with this kid that keeps vandalizing my car?

Question

I'm 21 and this kid is 18. He ALWAYS talks trash on me and everyone else. He constantly tries to get me to fight with him, leaves me voicemails telling me to fight him, texts me telling me to fight him, and so on. He has vandalized my car twice, but i KNOW the police will do nothing since there is no PROOF for SURE it was him...I, however know for a fact it was him. He did it in the middle of the night when i was sleeping both times. I dont want to get in trouble for kicking his *** or I'd throw down with him. I can't go to the police cuz theres no evidence and i gaurentee they will not do anything at all (I've tried it before several times in other vandalizing situations involving me as well as other members of my family and they've not once helped in any siutation).

He's 18 so he is not a minor.  Beat the h**l out of him and let him try and press charges against you for assault.  He'll have a fun time explaining that one to the police.

Next time he vandalizes your car beat the living h**l out of him on your property since he is trespassing should help you out alot in court on the assault charges and if there are no witnesses jsut say he rushed you, its your word against that of a trespassing criminal.

get a motion detector attached to a video & tape him.

i know what you mean man i think you should set up surveillance cameras over your vehicles then after gathering the evidence then present them to the police i had been in a similar situation and i couldn't get the cops to do anything  until i caught them on tape

file a poliece report on him for harrasment, and get restranong order, so hr cant call, text, or be anywhere near you anymore. If the problem doesnt go away put a video camera outside of your car were he cant see it and record him being an ***.

Get some buddies,  go over to his house and rough him up. Tell him if he ever even speaks to you again you will make him disappear.

We would have to know what state you live in.  Several states have Castle laws that permit extreme responses to protect person/property.

As far as tossing this moron a beating, forget it, please.  If you hurt this jerk, in the wrong state, he may file a successful suit against you and/or you could end up in jail.

I'd see a lawyer.  If the video others have suggested would stand up that is the way to go.  They are relatively cheap, easily disguised and if you can get this clown busted, so much the better.

A key point, brought up by another poster, this guy is 18.  He is an adult and if you can establish he is a bad actor I think you will get him to back off.
