I know it has to be pretty.

But what else should i look for?

Any material I should go for Or any material I should avoid.

How about fitting?

I see lot of these dresses for cheap on ebay And then I see similar dresses on other websites which are very expensive.

So I am bit confused. Not sure what to look for.

Any websites you would recommend?

  1. Everyone esle has good advice, especially about the skirt length and weight, but I would like to ad that it should go with your music.

My daughter wore a sporty black and yellow dress with a few crystals (larger size crystals) when she skated to the music from "Kill Bill" For her program to Bach, she wore a pastel pink dress that was quite delicate with lots of smaller crystals (both were customized by a friend). You get the picture.

  2. i love GK Elite sportswear

you should check on its website www.gkelitesportwear.com

about the material it is better to use lycra, velvet, or other stretch materials for the body and for the skirt it will be nicer if you use chiffon or any other fabrics which is light and not heavy...

cheaper means the dress will be more simple...maybe you can add some blings by yourself to make it more glamour.

but the most important thing is you should wear it comfortably and it doesn't restrain your moves

  3. you should pick a dress depending on your song. For example:If you are doing a latin song your dress should be orange and red.

  4. For material i would go for velour [like velvet] as this feels really nice, is comfortable and also looks classy! Lycra ones look a lot cheaper and go out of shape easily! If i were you i would get one hand made. They are more expensive but then you can gurantee that no one else will have the same dress as you as this can happen if you get one off ebay! I got my dress for my competition today, its second hand and so really different from everyone elses but was hand made and is really well made. Its gorgeus!!

Make sure that the dress fits well and looks classy and glitzy but not tacky! If you get it off ebay, get it off someone who has sold loads and knows what their doing! Hope you find a nice one! Good luck!

  5. You should look for stretchy/flexible material.  You want to avoid non-stretchable material.  The skirt should NOT be too long, if it reaches your knees that is WAY too long.  You should make sure that the top of the dress stays up *i had this problem at my last competition, the dress fit, but when I moved my arms, it dropped...oops!*  You should also LIKE the dress!  As for fitting...that depends on your height/weight.  I am about 5'0, 101 pounds, and I wear an Adult Medium.  My favorite websites are gkelite, jerrys, and mondor.  if you use mondor, keep in mind that there sizes run small.  Like, I am normally an Adult Medium, but in Mondor, I am an Adult Large. Hope this helps!  Oh, and as for the expense...that really just depends on the seller.  Websites are EXTREMELY expensive, as are stores.  I use e-bay all the time for my dresses, and I always LUV them.  There's no point in spending $100+ on a dress if you can get a similar one for $40 on e-bay. Chances are, the stores are trying to get a good profit, but a seller on e-bay just wants to make a little money.  I hope this answers your questions!
