  1. Maybe you should take small naps in between instead of sleeping for like 4 hours at one time. That way, when you arrive you won't be too tired because you evened out your sleeping patterns. I hope you have a safe flight!

  2. Take a short acting sleeping tablet (like Temazepan) about 6 hours into the flight.  Hopefully you can then sleep for 5-6 hours before you land.  When you get to LA try and stay up and be active all day (out in the sunlight) even if you feel like crashing.  That should reset your bodyclock pretty quickly.  I have done this trip many times and I do shift work sometimes.  You need to get a script from the doctor for the temazzies but it is well worth it.  Have a great trip!

  3. Follow the aircraft....(Cabin) because when they think you shyould sleep, they put the lights off, shut the shutters and encourage sleep. I have always found sleeping as they encourage is the best way- although myself i dont really sleep as i have 3 little children - then i just wait until the evening after i arrive and go to bed for a mammouth sleep and jet lag never happens...however when i fly home we are always jetlagged at least a week!

  4. I use restavit, its a sleeping pill, i think you can buy it over the counter, or maybe you need to have it prescribed. But it works - take two and your out until the plane hits down in LA. The other thing is like the person above said, try not to eat heaps before you sleep as its hard to digest while seated and sometimes makes you feel sick and stomach cramp, which wont help you sleep.. even a glass of wine with the sleeping pill is an extra knock out. :) safe flying! hope your not flying qantas! :P

  5. Drink a lot pass out when you wake up take some aspirin and you will be fine .That whats I do plus eat like 10 special brownies then I get on the plane and pass out.

  6. Lucky you! A few hints - don't drink alcohol and you don't need to eat every meal they bring you. A lovely lavender scented eye cover helps to relax and always helps me get to sleep.  I stay awake for a couple of hours at the beginning of the flight then slowly try to block out the noise and doze off.  I do this on flights from Australia to Europe and hardly ever have jet-lag so can enjoy my arrival.  Good luck!
