Yesterday I received a call from a company that wants to meet with me. He said it is not an interview but just to meet. He told me his name his Joel but later on I found out that there are two Joels in the company. He didn't tell me his last name. How do I know which Joel am I meeting. On the company's website, I found one of the Joel is a partner but I haven't find the other one. Should I call and ask the receptionist, which is the Joel that I am meeting or just go there and be confused in don't know which Joel. Should I call to confirm the time so I know which Joel am I meeting.

  1. I would call and confirm with the receptionist. Say Joel and if she wants a last name say something like, "Wow, I was writing so fast I can't make this out...." Stammer a little bit and she will fill in the information.

  2. I would go to the company and say hi I'm Amy and I have an appointment with Joel at 2 p.m.

If asked which Joel, asked surprised and say "he didn't give me his last name and I neglected to ask".  The receptionist's job is to find out which Joel you are meeting with.

    Good luck.
