Well...let's look at the facts.

$1500 and you get $500 to spend.

Hmmmm...this is a trap!!!

Generally, this means take the money and buy the spouse or other a gift. At the very least it means to buy something that both of you can enjoy.  If your brave enough you can ask why you only get a third instead of half.

Oh Oh Oh...I just had an idea.  Take it and buy a tank of gas and both of you go for a nice Sunday drive.

go do something nice for yourself, maybe buy something you can visualize and pay off a small debt.
