  1. I would suggest you go for simple.

    Dear Mrs. Smith,

I would like to take this opportunity to share some things about myself.

    or

At your request, I would like to provide some information about myself.

It doesn't have to be fancy. Keep it simple and to the point, but try not to bore her. I find it helps to "talk" through what I want to say in my head, turning over different words and phrases until I find one that flows well.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Dear Mrs. Smith,

  3. I'm going to assume...  you're young- because this has got to be the easiest "homework" ever handed out!

    Dear Mrs. Smith,

I hope that you have had a great summer and are ready for the coming school year.  I am happy to tell you that I will be a student in your class this year (here you could add:  in your 3rd hour, or english class, or just end the sentence).  So we may get to know one another better, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

This past summer, I had a lot of fun spending time outside with friends and my family.  I got to play a lot of football, went swimming at the lake, and rode my bike every day.  This year in school, I am looking forward to gym as I enjoy being active and hope to play football while at school, soon.

I am looking forward to this school year and seeing my old friends again, and I am sure you are, too.

    Best wishes,

    John Doe

Good luck!  It's very simple, but to the point.

  4. Dear Mrs. Smith,

I am really looking forward to this school year, meeting new people, and making new friends.  I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself.....
