How should I tell my friends I'm moving?

I'm a junior in high school and my parents told me that we're moving to Australia from the US. Also, how should I deal with their reactions?

Just tell them. Tell them you can still see them, and if they are good friends, they'll understand

First, be in a private place. Then, say "I have to tell you something important." Don't just say, "We're moving." Your friends might think it's a joke and when they find out it's true they'll get mad. Tell them it's not your fault, that you just found out, and that you'll try to keep in touch with them. If they get mad at you, say that you understand how they feel but that you already feel bad about it and don't want them to be mad at you over something that was out of your control.

Attempt to find out your new mailing address. Give it to those you wish to keep in contact with.

This is absolutely insane. My best friend just moved from here in the US to Perth, Australia. You just got to do it quickly. The sooner you do it, the more time they'll have to spend with you and accept the fact, before you leave.  It'll be fine, they'll be sad but it'll all be okay.

BTW, my friend has really come to love it down there.  I'm sure you will too! College is free for tax-payers!

its easier just to tell them you know Guys, i'm sorry but i'm moving to australia. they'll probably say "what?! no you can't go. what are you talking about.stay here with us.' and u just have to tell them. that's what my mom said and i;ll definitly keep in touch. if they cry, its ok for you to cry too to show how much u'll miss them.

we live in an electronic age that will allow you to speak and even see your friends on a daily basis if you wish ....  so be up-front and tell them that you have been given a wonderful opportunity to see another part of the world and that you will miss them like nothing BUT you will always be able to talk to them on the computer ( webcam )

I am sure that they will miss you and cry a lot and may even be a little jealous.......  Just allow them to react and allow yourself to react also.
