How should I tell my mom I got my period?

I was masturbating this morning and when I looked at my finger there was blood on it... then it just kept coming out. When I went pee after I didn't feel any pain (like I expected to) and it didn't hurt when it happened at all. I couldn't feel anything, just see blood.

I asked a different question on Answers and I was told by many people it was my period (which hadn't started before this incident). How should I tell my mom? I don't want to tell her I got it because I was masturbating, that would be awkward... what should I do?

Hi i started my period and my mum found out for herself which was kinda of good because i didnt know how to tell her. but my mum also said it's better if you speak to me openly. i dodnt like talkin about that stuff so i just leave it. i didnt get pain when i started my period which was kind of good as it was on my 11 birthday:)
