Question:

How should I travel to Prague airport?

I have a flight at 7.30am on a Thursday morning so really have to be at the airport by 6am.

I'll be travelling from the centre and I don't want to spend much money.

Is it safe if I go there Wednesday night and just stay in the airport overnight or is there a cheap easy way to get to the airport in the early hours of the morning?

  1. The cheapest way to get to the airport is to take the metro/bus combination. The #119 bus runs between the Dejvická metro station and the airport. The 1st bus from Dejvická to the airport is at 4:52 am which will get you to the airport well before 6 am. Other buses that will get you to the airport when you want to be there run at 5:08, 5:18, 5:28, 5:38, and 5:47. This last one will get you to the airport at 6:08 am. It's 21 minutes on the bus to the airport terminal 2. http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/praha/spojeni... [click on the English option then enter the name of the metro station you'll start at for From (e.g., Můstek or Dejvická if you want to see all the buses from there) and Terminál 2 for To - you'll only have to type part of the name]

To get to the Dejvická metro station you take the A (green) line - it's the last station on the line. The metro starts at 5 am, so you can't make the 1st bus this way, but you can make the other options depending on exactly where you're starting from.

I've never had a problem making an early flight doing this.

  2. Don't spend the night no reason for this. They have a local bus from city center that takes you to the airport for very little money. Ask any hotel clerk and they can tell you what bus number and where it picks you up.
