How should I try to keep myself from pulling muscles?

So I do capoeira and it involves a lot of acrobatics and kicks and a lot of times I muscles near my hip. How can I stop this from happening so often?

  1. Another suggestion is to physically warm up the muscle prior to exercise.  You can use a heating pad or hot packs.  It sound foolish carrying something like that to the gym, but between that and stretching, you will avoid pulling muscles.

    You may also try a middle exercise. What I mean by that is, after a warm up but before your actual kicking and acrobatics, do some moderate aerobic exercises.

  3. Just do a proper warm up and warm down. Lot's of stretches done properly, this will also improve flexibility.
