My name is Devendu. My initials are 'S' and 'V'

1) Devendu S.V

2) Devendu. S. V

3) Devendu S. V

4) Devendu S V

All these three may be incorrect. If so please provide the correct format.

  1. Use a comma instead of a period. Devendu, S.V.

  2. Hmmm... you are from India?  I have a friend (called Dontu) who was really  Ishwaraprasad V.S.K.S. Dontu.  The V. was Vishnu, S for Shiva, K for Krishna. etc.

So if I were you, I would either write Devendu S. V., or S. V. Devendu.

There is a space after each period (full stop).  Most non-Indians won't understand "Devendu S. V.," however.  They'll think S.V. is some sort of qualification (like Ph.D.)

In many  Western cultures, if your name is George W. Smith, and you want last-name-first, then you would write "Smith, G. W."  However,  that is if your surname were Devendu.

  3. Devendu S. V.

Do not use a comma, and a period should follow each initial. Note the proper spacing, too. The initials should not be lumped together.
