How should Trip Isenhour be punished for intentionally killing an endangered bird?

By now you have probably heard the story about this "man", Tripp Isenhour who was bothered by a bird on the golf course making too much noise while he was filming his video on golf.

Imagine that a bird in a tree on a golf course? So he began hitting golf balls at it,when the bird got closer, he hit some more balls at it and by one spectators words "Got real excited when one ball almost hit the bird."

This makes me wonder if he would do this to a poor defenseless bird, what might he do to another human being? We all know that serial killers are known to start young abusing animals and then move on to humans.

I'm so tired of celebrities that think they are all so important that not even a bird can make a sound when they are around!

  1. The bird wasn't endangered. A fine is fair punishment.

  2. pay a lager fine, lose his tour card to play on any tour (PGA, Nations Wide, European, Asian)  and go straight to jail!!

  3. He should be tied to a pole and have thousands of golf shots hit at him by JB Holmes.

After that, they should fill his pockets/mouth with bloody rats/squirrels/mice and then release thousands of psycho birds of prey near him.

  4. I think he should be fined and put into jail.

  5. Tripp Isenhour is a seriously f*cked-up, cold-hearted SOB, who cares more about his d**n golf game video than he does an innocent creature ... who's just doing what comes natural to him/her.

What a tremendous a**hole this guy is !!!!

I seriously hope that he gets punished to the maximum extent of the law.  He doesn't deserve any different treatment than he gave the poor animal.

By the way, where were all the bystanders... and, what were they doing during this whole thing?  Did ANYONE even try to stop this motherf*cking idiot from doing this horrible thing?????

Stupid b******s like this Tripp Isenhour, who abuse/ kill defenseless animals REALLY gets my blood boiling.

Somebody should put him on a golf green and fire golf balls at his f*cking head, until he drop dead.

Now THAT would be JUSTICE SERVED !!

  6. To Gen Patton: Its not Anmials before humans, its humanity above ALL. Try taking higher route in life. DUMB A#@!!!

  7. The bird WAS endangered. A HARSH fine and a slap on the *** is acceptable.

  8. He broke the law people!!!  He INTENTIONALLY meant to hit the bird.  I am sick and tired of celebrities and athletes thinking that they can do whatever they want without consequences.  No matter who the person is, every time a law is broken, the courts must be uphold the law and punish people for their very poor decisions.

  9. Feed his own balls to a hawk

  10. Hawks are silent by nature as they surprise their prey and I doubt it was disrupting anything.  Even when hawks are attacked by groups of starlings (a common observation)  they are quiet. This was simple cruelty akin to Michael Vick killing dogs.  The punishment should inclucde a jail sentence and more importantly he should be suspended from all professional golf for a period of at least two years

  11. I'm pasting my SAME answer I posted on another Asker's with a similar question.

I, also, will IGNORE your last 2 paragraphs as those are RIDICULOUS analogies!

What Tripp did was NOT on the same level as Michael Vick, but it WAS equally careless, reckless, and stupid. I'd feel the same if he had deliberately taken aim at a squirrel!

Accidental incidents are way different than intentionsl ones.

If he accidentally shanked, sliced, or hooked a shot into a tree and "accidentally" killed an animal, that's a different case altogether...because it was an ACCIDENT!

In this case, Tripp intentionally took AIM at the tree the bird was in, even though his intent was to just scare the bird. When you intentionally take aim at a target (i.e. person or animal) there is a risk that you may hit the target.

From 250 yards out, I take aim at the pin knowing my odds of actually hitting the pin are quite low, once in a blue moon I hit it! Tripp is a PRO! His odds are way higher and even better when closer the target.

By intentionally hitting his ball AT the bird, he risked hitting it and possibly killing it! It would be bad enough, even had he missed or wounded the bird; but, as luck would have it, he did hit & kill the bird. That's bad and he SHOULD be punished. At the very least, a large fine!

Again, it's NOT the same level of Michael Vick in which Vick had an illegal ongoing game which resulted in multiple animal deaths. So the punishment shouldn't be the same.

But definitely a punishment of some sort!!

Intentionally aiming with deadly force at any defenseless creature carries the risk of actually hitting the target, ESPECIALLY when done by a professional.

Sorry, but unless it were just a pure accident, shank, etc.; Tripp needs to pay the piper on this one! Sorry!

  12. The fine being sought by the humane society is  $1500 and up to 14 months in jail, but as with most cases of animal abuse it's extremely unlikely he will serve any actual jail time.

"Gen Patton" -- what does your response have to do with the question? Why would you assume the asker and others disturbed by the incident care about animals more than people? I didn't realize it was one or the other. Most people who are concerned about animals rights are also compassionate towards unfortunate people -- compassion isn't species specific. And who is even comparing "selling secrets" to animal abuse? No one mentioned terrorists, the discussion is about the punishment for this crime -- yes, crime. It is illegal to intentionally hurt and kill an animal and Tripp Isenhour did.

  13. Listen, I am an amateur naturalist, and there is no way in creation that a hawk or any bird for that matter that was 300 yards away  could possibly bother anyone. This r****d got cocky and thought he would show off. So the bird flys closer and the jerk off nails it. What an idiot. I'd love to see him go to jail for a month or two, but he will just get a fine and suspended sentence. And then he will fade back into obscurity, which is where he came from.

  14. His act was intentional. The artical said at first the bird was about 300 yards away making noise so trip jumped into his cart drove up to it and started hitting balls. After a couple dozen he gave up trying and went back to filming. After a bit the bird flew closer to about 75 yards and kept making noise. Trip said something like "im gonna get him now" and hit ball after ball untill he hit him. Of course that was on purpose! A PGA tour player doesn't hit anything on accident! He should get the max so as to make a example out of him.

Some jack@$$ above basically said it was the birds fault... that it should have flown away. Wow that's childish. I'm no peta douche or tree hugger... but if i saw some PGA tour pro lining up ball after ball trying to hit any animal. I'd quietly tee up a ball right behind him and yell in his back swing "hey, you take one more swing at that animal and i'm driving this ball straight up your a##" If he swung i wouldnt thing twice about hitting him.

Trip gives a bad name to golfers... how many people already think we're all a bunch of white pompous a$$holes? He just reinforced that.

  15. who does this guy think he  is anyways? killing a beautifull bird like that! he should be given a hefty fine and thrown in jail for a year! that jerk!

  16. Fine him, stick him in jail and ban him from golf.

  17. this question should only be answered by those (like the asker) who are more concerned with animals OVER humans. my question to those of you who feel this way is, how many sick kids have you helped, how many old people did you buy a bag of food for?  i don't think it's right to harm animals for fun, but, i don't this case is as bad as giving secrets to the enemy, either. first you say for intentionally killing, then it's almost  hitting, which one do you want to hang him for?

  18. I'm going to pretend the last part of your statement never existed, as for Trip, I really could care less the bird should have had the smarts to fly away when the balls got closer...i dunno about u but everytime i hit stuff into the woods or try and scare birds they usually fly away so this bird must be retarded. Get over your self PETA and Humane Soceity people and get a life and worry about dog fighting..this was an accident..so the next time i kill a bug or something u gonna come after me? By the way I'm an avid hunter and fisherman and those animals are dang tasty
