I am a homeschooled student, and I have been since halfway through 10th grade. How should I go about applying for a university, and what information do I need?

  1. Being home schooled is not a disadvantage any longer, but it does put more importance on your taking the SAT exam and doing well.  Don't most states also require that homeschoolers take some sort of state exams to prove that they actually learned what the should have?  Your scores there will be important, too.

As for exactly how to apply, just go to the web page of the schools you're interested in, find their Admission section, and read everything there.  When you actually get around to applying, you'll fill out the forms you need there online.

  2. I'm not sure how much it varies from state to state but I live in Arkansas and graduated 12th grade last year. I have been home-schooled since 5th grade. All I had to do to get into the University of Arkansas was fill out my own high school transcript, fill out an application, take a test: COMPASS, ACT, or SAT. I took the COMPASS, and show my immunization record. After that you just wait and see if you get accepted, It took 2ish days for me and then I signed up for classes.

  3. Lots of options... But I would highly suggest just skipping your 12th grade and taking courses directly at your local community college. Then transfer to any school you want. And I'm assuming your actually successful academically.
