How should an advanced English paper be started out?

I am doing a paper in my advanced english class and I need to know the best way to start out my paper and still sound like a 14 year old freshmen did it.

start out with an attention getter; "50 million people are reportedly dumb."  something like that so the reader will be interested on reading more.
