so today was my first day, and i walked into my chem class, and it was the most uncomfortable thing in the world. most of the kids in there i don't like/don't like me. my "friend" is in my class but she completely ignores me to talk to other people. the class is FULL, like 30 kids. we also have allot of partner work, which would be awkward. sooo...

to sum it up, my best friend has chem the same time as me, with another teacher. her class seems really nice, and isn't crowded. how should i ask my counselor to switch classes?

  1. Explain as honestly as you can the situation.  If she can I'm sure she will let you transfer.  Don't be afraid of school counselors.  They are there to help you with any problem.

  2. go a couple more days and see if it is reallt all that bad. trust me, my class is full of goth kids who stare at me the whole time but the teacher is nice... so i guess i'll try to manage the whole year.

if it really is bad, talk with ur councelor but all ur other classes might get messed up if u are willing to switch.

  3. This all depends on your school and your counselor. I am a High School teacher, and students switch classes all the time for reasons just like you described. I would say, go to her, be honest, and express the same concerns you mentioned here. If your counselor will not budge... sometimes our "nice" counselors will fix schedule issues for students who don't fall under their normal "list of students." Maybe ask around to see which counselor (assuming you have more than one on your campus) might help you.

  4. Yeah, its easy.

Just say that you dont think you will be able to work well with the people in your class, for reasons you would not like to talk about.

That should get them to move you.
