  1. babies don't get a "bath"  until their umbilical falls off.....the get a sponge bath especially around the neck, armpit, and groin area....even afterwards they only need one about every other day.....use lukewarm water and baby wash.....you can do this in your sink in a baby bathtub...i used to hold my twins in the tub with me (one at a time of course) and bathe them and then have my husband get them from me when i was done to dry and dress them

  2. UNTIL THE BELLY BUTTON HAS HEALED THEN YOU ONLY WIPE THEM DOWN WITH A DAMP WASHCLOTH AND YOU CAN BATHE THEM WHAT EVER TIME IS GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

  3. When you bathe your baby is totally up to you assuming your talking about your baby. but if not then lot of people give there babies baths before bedtime.

as for how to do it if he/she is newborn then you can sponge bath which is wiping down with damp cloth. if you want to put the baby in the tub always hold the baby never put directly in the water and never leave him/her unattended. gently wash with mild soap and water or just water

  4. Best time is before a feeding. New babies who still have the umbilical cord (and circumcision if it's a boy who was circumcised) should be sponge bathed. Just have them in a warm room with everything in reach and gently dip a cloth into lukewarm soapy water and rub them down every 2-3 days. Once the umbilical cord comes off the the circ is healed you can submerge them in water and wash them from head to toe that way you did with the sponge bath. Always wash genitals after the rest of the body is clean and then wash their hair last to keep them from getting a chill.

  5. Until your child's umbilical cord falls off, sponge baths every 3-4 days are perfectly adequate.

Once your child loses his or her umbilical cord you can start using the small tubs and sponges they make. I recommend starting with a mild bath soap. Even then baths every 3 days or so is plenty.

Once your child starts eating solids you might want to switch to every other day baths. The food gets pretty messy sometimes! Just make sure that you use lotion after every bath to avoid dry skin!

  6. You can only bathe them once the embolical cord has fallen off, and I usually give mine a baby every other day, and at night time, Baths usually relaxs babies.

  7. I bathe her at nighttime right before her bed time... It helps her sleep at night.  Well all you have to do is make sure the water isnt too hot (test it with your elbow) and give him/her a bath with a soft washcloth- be gentle and have fun!

  8. basically a sponge bath and every 2-3 days not everynight you can give  them dry skin... until the umbilical cord is off then go everyother night... I did my daughter before bed time or usually around 7:30 at night. what ever time works best for you... good luck sweetheart

  9. wow

If you are serious honey a parenting class pronto will help !

Do you have a mother or grandmother or anyone you can call.

Call the local hospital and ask for a parenting class for infants.

If you love your baby love her enough to learn how to take care of her !

  10. right before bedtime is a nice time

have a look at this link

  11. There should be classes in taking care of baby as well as lamaze..

I think that would be a great idea.

You should bathe baby whenever it is a good time for you and the little one.. In a small baby tub that can sit on the table or the sink so you are comfortable in doing so.

Support his head and put him in the water and gently wash him with a cloth it is easier than it sounds..

Enjoy this time with baby it is magical.

  12. Take your baby a sponge bath cause the belly button hasn't healed yet until it falls off. and make sure u bathe your baby 2 or 3 times a day so that way the baby skin will stay smooth not all dryed up.

  13. it is strange how often most baby bathe their newborn but i always bathed my daughter once a day and mostly at night . i usually sit on the sink and put on my tights and bathe her from head to toe ( after the belly button falls off ). she loved it . i found it gross to only use a towel to wipe a baby down and call it bathing but i guess everyone is entiltled to teir opinion. babies do stink  from breast milk and all that spitting up . anyway i am fro France and this is how my mom taught me and to think that they dont even have baby cologne here .

  14. Sponge bath until their cord falls off.

I think its better to bathe at night because a warm bath usually makes them sleep longer. A baby tub is good if yours will use it. (mine will only be calm if I get in the tub with him and hold him)

Make sure you have everything you need, baby wash, wash cloth towel clothes and diaper ready for when your done.

I usually run his towel in the dryer before I start and the roll it up so it stays warm. Wash hair, face don'tt use too much soap on face), belly, back, arms, legs, feet then bottom area. rinse and wrap in towel. Its better to hold them in a towel for a while before putting on a diaper and clothes so that they wont get a diaper rash. oh anddon'tt give baby a bath before going outside, pores will be open and baby could get sick.

    congrats and good luck!!
