i am swtiching my 5 month baby's formula over from Enfamil Lipil to Enfamil Gentlease. I heard you had to slowly introduce this when switching. when i first gave him the all new formula straight he acted weirded out and threw up some right after although i do not know if that was why because the whole reason he is switching is because he gets stomach cramps and throws up fountains daily. well this is how i started mixing the formulas out: i make an 28oz jug of formula daily and only 8oz of that is the new gentlease formula. it has only been 2 days so i didnt want to give too much. is that ok, or is that not enogh of the new formula? i was planning on doing that for a week then adding another 8oz in place of the old formula next week. am i doing this right? if not, how should i make up the 28oz right?

  1. you are doing perfect! you don't want to give him much at a time because you need to give his belly time to adjust to the new formula just gradually add more to it until you can give him all of the same formula.

  2. you are doing perfect! this is the correct way to introduce your baby to new formula and im sure your baby will appreciate you being so careful. Gradually mixing and increasing the amounts of the new formula is better for their digestive system and it is not too much of a shock. continue doing this and keep an eye for any sort of reaction or allergies. otherwise, GREAT JOB!!!

  3. Sound fine you could probably add a little more then 8 oz to your jug if you wanted to and he still would be fine.

  4. I have switched my daughter's formula several times, and I never slowly introduced it.  I just gave her the next bottle with the new formula.  This was, however, for health reasons.  She was allergic to others so it was best not to give her anymore of the other kinds.
