How should i change my bedroom?

for the whole year, i wanted to change around my room a little but didn't have enough time to. now that it's summer, i'm gonna redecorate it. My walls are a pastel green, and i'd like to add some stripes along the side, but nothing major. I'm thinking highlights of dark purple and bright red. What are your opinions? Does anyone have other colors that go well with green and white?
