How should i decorate my room??

Question

Ok well I want my room decorated and finally have the time and money to do it,but i cant really find my style.I'm kind of boyish, into sports and music and stuff.I like blues and greens,and animals.I'm starting from scratch so i can do just about anything! I want to have a californian look to it kinda like surf boards and paintings stuff like that, I want a big bed and i have a pretty decent size room for it,well getting off subject! uhh yea again i like greens, blues and browns maybe dark purple but not over done i was thinking of posters but that makes it look junky,allthough i do want a teen looking junkyish room but for it to look nice! so just give me your ideas- if possible =P thanks

i like your style im the same way!

you could paint your walls maybe of the ocean and a pretty sunset over the horizon!?  and have surf boards on your wall for shelfs....umm.....you could get a bed and the head board and foot board have surf boards on them!? well im not really sure if im getting to wat your wanting but i really hope i helped good luck im going through the samething with my bedroom!!!

The first step is to go to a paint store and get a bunch of the color samples that you like and start putting them together until you get a pallet that fits your taste.  You can also find accessories (like a cool surf board)  and design around them.  There are a ton of magazines that have designed rooms that you can copy or even some websites like BHG.com.   You can copy room samples on a budget by shopping at second hand stores and garage sales.  Target actually can get some cute stuff from time to time but you just have to shop around.  If you can't find art in your budget you can make your own!  A pretty frame can dress up any picture so posters can make great art with the right frame.  Paint can make a huge statement and really dress up a room.  Maybe try painting stripes or different colors on different walls.  It all comes down to personal preference so just try playing around with it until you come up with something you like!
