How should i draft?

I am joining a Fantasy Football league for the first time. I was wondering is there a draft order to go by?. alot of ppl have told me to draft a RB or QB first. So what should i draft and in what order?

my idea is this.

Round 1- a good RB

Round 2- a good RB or WR

Round 3- a good RB or WR

Round 4- a QB (Cutler and Garrard are usually left at this point along with others.)

Round 5- a RB or WR

Round 6- a TE maybe depending if anyone else has drafted a TE. If noone has drafted a TE yet then wait and draft a RB or WR here)

Round 7- TE

Round 8- WR

Round 9- D/ST

Round 10- K

Just take what you feel are the best available players. If you try and follow a strategy like the guy in the 1st post says you will end up passing on really good talent to take someone you may not need. I believe he said to take Cutler or Garrard in round 5. Man is he wrong. Garrard can be drafted as late as round 9 or 10 and Cutler should be there in round 7 or 8. h**l in round 5 guys like Palmer and Big Ben and Hasselbeck will be there. Take any of these guys before Cutler or Garrard

1)RB

2) picks 11-14 get RB2,,15-20 get WR1

3)RB2,or WR1   Jamal Lewis,and Laurence Maroney is a good RB2..L.Fitzgerald,and M.Colston is a good WR1

4)Take another WR...(T.Holt,B.Marshall,Chad Johnson)

5)TE  (J.Witten,,,OR  A.Gates.)

6)QB  (C.Palmer,D.Anderson,Ben Rothlisberger)

7)WR3

8)Def (Chargers,Vikings)

9)Kicker

10 through end take best bench players.

1st Round- QB (Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Drew Brees) or RB (LaDainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Brian Westbrook, Steven Jackson)

2nd Round- RB #2 or WR

3rd Round- QB or WR #2

4th Round- Jason Witten/ Kellen Winslow (TEs)

5th Round- Just do what other people are doing the rest of the draft
