Its a supermarket..... I was thinking that a shirt and tie might be too much for such a crappy job. (Shaws hires almost everyone)

Do you guys think jeans and a polo would work?

  1. Shaws hires many people but they also refuse people also. I would dress with shirt tie if possible. The interview is based on first impression so be neat, business attire, and be ready for a real interview. Even at 16 it could lead to better offers.

Know a kid who worked at Hannafords a couple of years in high school and a customer noticed him and gave him a business card to apply at a local store. He call and was offered produce manager job.

Suggest to check out the company website and prepare with some knowledge of company.

  2. I own a business.  I don't care how you dress.  I want employees who are honest and honorable and show up on time. Prove to me that this describes you and you will be hired. /

  3. how you dress shows respect for the person that is interviewing you, although if you think that this is a c**p job why are you applying? aim higher and you will find a better job

  4. I think you should wear a pair of khakis or even cargo pants with a polo would be perfect.  Jeans may be a little too casual.  Even though they hire anyone, you still want to make a good impression.  It may influence their decisions in the future on things such as raises or even promotions.
