How should i explain this?

my gf died a year ago. right before she died our baby girl was born. she was sick before the baby was born so we knew she was ganna die when she did. i am only 17 so it's been kinda hard raising my daughter by my self, but i really don't complain, cuz the hard work is Worth it. i want to start dating again, but how can i explain to a 1 year old that whoever i'm with is not her mom? i've kinda been talking to one women who has a daughter who's 3, but she's kinda older then me. however. how can i get a 1 year old to understand that her mom died, and that any women i date is not her mom?

you don't have to explain, especially at age 1. It's something she can figure out later in life. instead of letting your daughter call a woman you date mommy, have her call her by her name. there's nothing wrong with that.

how much older is the woman with the 3 year old? because technically you are still a minor but i think it's really cool how you have handled this less than ideal situation. if you think you can really connect with this woman and you four (the kids included) could seriously make this work in the long run i say go for it...you guys can probably help each other emotionally. I think maybe you should wait until your daughter is a little bit older to explain to her because 1 is still very young, and you don't know if it is going to work out with the woman

A one year old is too young to understand any concept beyond what you teach her.  If you don't call this woman her mother, just call her by her name, then I don't see that your daughter will be confused in any way.  Once you think she has a good grasp on things which may be a while from now, then you can explain.  For now you can give simple answers if you are concerned...remember, she doesn't have an understanding of the world, so this won't seem weird/strange to her.
