i want them to get to a normal weight but i cant find a feeding chart!. does anyone know a feeding chart and a schedule i should give my cats?

  1. jeez, that is WAAAAAY to much food.  And it sounds like the big one is eating most of it.  And dry food is junk, full of carbs and cats dont need carbs.  Besides that, they get dehydrated and dry food makes them more prone to lots of diseases.  You could probably just read the box of food and it should tell you how much to give your cats.  2 year old cats should eat about 4-6 ounces of wet food daily,  that is only 2 small cans a day per cat.   you should feed them only twice a day.  I do feed mine 3 times a day but they get smaller quantity for a total of 6 oz a day

  2. That's too much food!! The first thing you can do is to stop feeding them so much!

  3. There should  be instructions on the back of the bag to tell you the correct amount to feed.  But with a 19# cat it sounds like you need to go to the vet, they may want to put him on a weight loss or management diet.  They may change the cats' diet, amount or frequency of feedings.

  4. That's too much, I used to leave an "automatic" feeder out for three cats, but they quickly put on weight. We have 7 cats now and we feed them twice a day. They get 1/8 cup dry food in the morning, then another 1/8 cup dry food and a can of wet food divided amongst the 7 of them about 4 o'clock. They each have their own separate dishes.

  5. That is way too much!

First off.. Both cats should be fed separately. About 1/2 cup of dry cat food a day and plenty of exercise like have them chase a paper ball or something that keeps them running around. Make sure they have clean fresh water thru out the day too!

If you decide to feed them wet cat food make sure they are use to it b/c if they aren't they might get diarrhea. Also, slowly mix a small amount of wet food in with the small amount of dry cat food once a day if you decide to do this for about a week or two until transferring over to wet food completely.

But, your cats should be fed about 1/2 cup once daily of dry cat food with plenty of exercise and fresh water.

Also, I would slowly bring the heaviest cat down on the feedings. Like maybe give it half of what the cat normally eats for a couple days then bring that amount down a little more for a few days until your at a half cup daily.

I feed my cat INNOVA but for over weight cats I would suggest EVO INNOVA. This type of cat food is a bit more costly but doesn't have all those fillers and carbs. Very healthy for cats. My cat is 2 1/2 yrs old and weighs approx. 9lbs. The vet recently saw her and thought she was at a decent weight.

Also, on the bag of cat food or box of cat food should have the recommended feeding for cats.
