  1. Being skinny doesn't mean you're in shape.  Being overweight doesn't mean you are out of shape.  Are you getting tired or winded in practice?  Your coach may be referring to cardiovascular conditioning.  Your volleyball and your dance should help you with that.  Consider running, or cycling or anything that can keep your heart rate elevated for a period of time.

  2. yes, more muscle.

work your legs so you can jump higher.

work your arms so you can hit harder.

work your core so you're stronger and more balanced.

run a lot so you have more endurance.

    good luck!

  3. RUN,RUN, RUN  That's what she means. Cardio.

  4. I think the coach meant to just get some muscles and weigh the average weight for your age.

  5. maybe she meant that you are not stronger than the other girls, in in order to do that, you need to get in shape.  so yes just exercise and build up your muscles.

  6. your coach probably means to get into better cardiovascular shape.  Vball is a game of small sprints.  there's a ebb and flow to the game.  when your team is on offense, you move closer to the hitter or net to cover the hits.  when you're on defense, you have to play further back (away from the net) so you can dig the balls.  When there's a long rally, you gotta  transition from offense and defense.  A player in the front row will have to be able to move a lot.  the front row will have to move side to side to block or back and forth for the approach jump.

To get into shape, running sprints / shuttle runs will get you going or running up the seat stairs.  This wil get your heart rate up get you used to a sustained level of elevated heart rate.

Of'course you need to keep a well rounded workout and build muscle.  It'll help you play for prolonged periods of time (Ie. the 5th game of a mtach or at a tournament)

good luck and keep hamering the ball
