for the past month i have been working at pizza hut. i hate the job so while i was working there i sent out resumes and looked for better jobs. i just got a call back and the job requires me to start tonight. its a construction job in a sense, i make frames for hot tubs, sheds etc. i'm working the night shift. i tried to talk them into letting me start next week but they said that i have to start tonight. anyways, how do i quit pizza hut?

should i just never show up again, or should i give them a letter of resignation?

how should i do this?

any advice is welcome.

thanks in advance.

  1. don't just leave! fist find out how much pto you have,. then everyday untill your last call in sick and document it, also send a text to your supervisor and hr documenting it. keep calling in sick and specifically saying your using pto time. keep this up until you have used up all your pto, then simply call in and say you want to go back to school or whatever and that your not leaving but that you wish to be put "on call" that way you can return to work if things don't work out.....speaking of jobs please answer my question you'll be glad you did.

  2. its pizza hut, tell em to go to h**l.

normally you need to give 2 weeks verbal warning to your boss.

if you just leave you cannot get a little or recommendation of use them as a reference.. but why would u want that from pizza hut.

  3. It is usually best to give some notice...

However, since you have only been working there a month and you cannot give them a two-week notice anyway (because the other job needs you immediately) I'd say just cut your losses and not show. It would be nice of you to give them a call though and let them know that you won't be in tonight. Unless you just really hated the job, then feel free to s***w them and not show up.

  4. if you hate the job, i would just got in or write a note saying: I'm sorry but I'm moving on to bigger things.

  5. I totally agree with hiba. It is always best to do things in a nice manner. You absolutely never know who you will meet up with again. It is best to be remembered as having some class than to just be remembered as another numskull who took the easy way out.

Hate Pizza Hut? It's ok- just tell the manager that you wish you could have given two weeks notice, and perhaps you can work the weekend shift if that will help him/her out. Best of luck to you in your quest.

  6. Just call them up and let the manager know you won't be coming back.

  7. p**s them off by eating every pizza you make.

  8. omgg u cant just nott showw upppp omggthtts stupidddd! telll the mamagerr u quitt?

  9. Even though you hate Pizza Hut, be real careful. No decent employer would expect someone to start right away. It isn't done and shows desperation. If you hate the new place you've burnt your bridges. Watch out! Call in sick at Pizza Hut and test the new job because I doubt it's any better. Good luck : )

  10. You need to give a letter of resignation... better be formal when doing these things or else you'll get a bad advice/feedback if you ever reference that you worked there.

Always say the truth: When accepting the new job, you should have stated that you were working previously in someplace else and your resignation was still on due (in that way, if they really want you, they won't pressure you to start).

Because it might get you trouble later as they find you working on Pizza Hut before your night shift (and you were supposed to have nothing).

I wish you the best of luck with this.

  11. Call and speak with a top manager and say you would have liked to give the normal two weeks notice, but a job came up that you must start immediately and just wanted to tell him/her directly and stay in good standing with .
