How should i hold a wooden bat?

Question

iv got an expensine wooden bat and i dont want to break it so how should i hold it?

iv headr different ways to hold it..should the label be facing me or away from me?

Most will say the label should be facing up, and that's the safest way to do it, but it seems to me that the label should be facing down as well.  As long as the grain is parallel to the ground, you should be fine.
