How should i know if an cichlid auratus is pregnant?

Again, Auratus do NOT become impregnated, nor do they lay eggs.  They are a mouth brooder.  How to tell if an female is holding a brood?  Look at the throat area.  It should appear to be enlarged, and the female will also not eat food.  You need to watch closely.  It might look like they are eating, but check to see if they actually open their mouth to let food in or not.  Many times, a female that is holding a brood will pass over food, but not actually eat it.  In the fish world, if you appear and act different then anyone else, you tend to attract unwanted attention.  They will act as if eating, but you'll see if watching closely, they don't take food into their mouth when holding a brood.

u wont actually be able to tell if it is pregnant u will just notice the female will carry the eggs and young in her mouth which takes bout 3 weeks to hatch etc they do like to eat algae,lettuce and spinach good luck

they wont look pregnant.

they lay eggs so the babys arent actually growing inside of her.

she will lay them and the male will fertilize them.

is she on a good veggy diet? since she is an african species?
