  1. carb up today, sleep very well, stretch well tomorrow and eat a light but energizing breakfast.

    ice anything that hurts also

  2. Sleep well, eat well, drink plenty of water, warm up right, and run the race.

You don't need to "carb up" for a 5k.  That is for much longer races, where you dig really deep into your body for energy.  All you need to do is eat healthy.  I would recommend not trying any new food, just in case it disagrees with you.

The biggest mistake at the high school level is to not hydrate enough, especially in the early season when it is warm.  If you school allows you to, carry a water bottle with you to class.  I had a coach who made it a team rule that you couldn't pass a water fountain without drinking on a meet day.

    Good luck.

  3. Theres nothing really we can do. Just stay healthy, eat right, drink lots of water and believe in your training.

As I like to tell my kids:

"Run the first part of the race with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart"

    Good luck!

  4. sleep!!! go to bed a little earlier, but before you go to bed continually drink water ---- try to get in a bottle or 2 before you go to bed......

in the morning still continue to drink water.... and for breakfast eat carbs carbs carbs...... and stay away from dairy products.... so eat like  a bagel or toast or something of that sort

then seriously until your race just continue to hydrate... WATER WATER WATER

before your race do a 15-20 minute warmup - just jog around.... then stretch and when you get to the starting line before the race do some strides......

im sure you will do GREAT!!!!! - be confident in yourself and don't sych yourself out... don't overthink the race.

when your done make sure to jog a 20 minute cooldown and drink gatorade to get electrolytes back in your system....

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
