Im having the carpet in my bedroom ripped up and there are wood floors underneath the carpet that they are going to refinish. How should i prepare my room before they rip the carpet up. We are having professional movers move the furniture because its so big. Do i need to take my clothes out of the furniture or can i leave them in? Do i need to vacuum the carpet before they rip it up? Any advice on what to do will greatly be appreciated!

  1. Don't vacuum. A vacuum won't get anything (or much of anything) that has passed through to the pad underneath.

I probably would take the clothing out of the furniture, if nothing else than as a courtesy to the movers. Make sure that you have the space where you want the furniture moved to cleaned out and ready, as well as the path to it unobstructed.
