Question:

How should i start a letter to my friend?

She moved to ontario when i was in grade one. I'm going into gr. 8 now. I haven't wrote to her in about 3 or 4 years. And i want to become good friends with her again. But i do not kneww how to start the letter. Should i say Dear or Hey how have you been? Please help

  1. I dont think that you should start your letter off with DEAR, it sounds to formal.  maybe you should start it off with whatever her name is, we will say Lisa just as an example so start the letter by saying: Lisa, i have missed you and then the rest will come to you.


  2. well, this is a little akward since you have not written to her in such a long time. start the little with "dear"

  3. Dear so and so is fine. Maybe start the letter clearly expressing why you are writing (i.e. "I wanted to get back in touch with you"). Keep in mind your friend has probably changed (as have you) in the past few years, so if you do start writing it may take a while to get reacquainted. Ask her what she's been up to and fill her in on changes with you. Happy writing!

    Hey Sarah P.  Remember me, its Sarah P!  Long-time no hear.......
