  1. why do you have to ask them to go on a date.  i mean did they tell you that you couldn't date at all.  I mean if your parents want to meet the guy first then that's understandable but asking them like you're fifteen is weird.

  2. Is this your first date? If so then just casually mention it over dinner one night that you are doing to have dinner w/ a friend. At 18 I would hope they would not have a problem w/ you going out. Good luck & I hope you have a great time!!

  3. well you are 18 and ur an adult so technically u can make ur own decisions...but to be good...tell ur parents..the truth and they will understand..

  4. I hate when people say "your 18 so your an adult"...no, being an adult is more than just a number. But you obviously care about that your parents think, so bring it up during dinner like one person suggested. Just casually bring it up, let them know what your doing and where you'll be. One thing I've learned over the years was that if I approached my parents in a polite and mature manner, they usually were ok with the situation.

  5. Why should you have to ask your parents, after all you are 18 and should be grown up enough to go out on a date. Just be straight forward with them and tell them that this guy has asked you out for a meal, reassure them that all will be alright, as it is just a meal and mainly you won't be be late home, and as long as you stick to what you say then no problem.

  6. Is this a trick question? I mean come on you're 18, you're an adult. Although, you don't have to get their permission, it is always nice to let them know where you'll be just in case something comes up. But honestly, do you think you still have to ask before you can do something? Even if you're still living in their house, you're 18(which is an adult) and you have the right to make your own decisions, but like I said make sure to tell them where you'll be. It's better to be safe than sorry!

  7. No your eighteen your an adult!
