  1. Most of the bakery's will deliver and set the cake up for you, but if you didn't have a bakery do it then I would carry each sperated and put to gether at reception hall.

  2. I believe most bakeries transport it in two sections, and put the finishing touches on the cake at the site. I wouldn't want to transport a 4-tier cake just sitting in the back of the car with people holding it, but I guess that an option.

    Good luck!

  3. You transport the cake in sections and assemble on site....

I worked for a in store scratch bakery (the only gorcery store chain in the NE that has scratch bakery depts)....occasionally our cake decorators ( the only thing I didn;t do) would leave the wedding cakes unassembled if it wasn't a sheet cake....if it was an elaborate cake then the decorator did the assembly...if it was simple, then the person was instructed on what to do....good luck.

  4. pay the extra cost the bakery offers, that make it their responsibility.

  5. Do Not attempt this yourself.Pay the extra and have it delivered. If something happens they will fix it.

  6. ups? lol um idk good luck with that o i no google it we r mostly teens how would we no  lol

    haha

  7. im makeing my cake myself so i supose i should figure out how to transport mine too >.< if your ordering it i would say they would drop it off for you. <3Q

  8. Transport each part of cake seperatly.  Assemble it once it's at its location.

  9. Shouldn't the people that made the cake do that for you? Otherwise, take it in sections and then assemble it at the venue so it doesn't topple over!

  10. delivering a wedding cake isn't that hard...i used to deliver them at the bakery i worked at for years :) first i suggest using a van or suv for your vehicle, that way the ac can help keep them cool. next you'll want to line the floor with that no slip liner you can find at wal-mart. if your cake is already stacked just set it on the liner and drive carefully, if you are having pillars between the teirs then keep the cakes boxed w/the pillars sticking out-then you just have to place the cakes on the pillars-super easy, and if you have a stand i suggest keeping that upfront so you don't have to worry about it damaging the cake. just remember to drive carefully, no sudden stops and keep the ac on :) it'll be fine, personally i think the wedding cake delivery charge is a bit of a rip off, good luck and congrats!

  11. Each of the tiers could be placed in a box and the instructions for assembly at the reception site should be included if someone from the cake place isn't going to be there to put it together.

  12. I would pay the delivery fee for a cake of this size if you ask me, but if that is not an option get some of the foam/rubber material that is used to line cabinets and drawers and put it under the cake in the back of a van or suv. We did this under my smaller 3 tier cake and it didn't shift during our hour long journey. My cake was in an open top box and we simply sat the box on top of the material and drove a little slower. It didn't move an inch. You can buy a roll of the material for a couple of bucks at Walmart or similar store.

  13. it so be done by the caters, or who made it made it .....it should be in the costs of cake..

  14. let the bakery shop transport it or if you made your cake yourself well, thats a prob...

  15. Place toothpicks at bottom of each tier before cake is disassembled to make it easier to line back up when you get it to reception.

    Each tier comes apart.

Get cake boxes for each tier and a piece of corrugated card board that will fit the bottom of each box.  Punch a hole in each cardboard for a tier leg go in to keep it from sliding during transport.

A vehicle that has fold down seating would be best or the flat bed of a truck since tiers are in cake boxes and brace to minimize sliding.

    Drive carefully.

  16. You can have it in 4 different boxes and just put it all together when you get to the place.
