How should i wire and set up my 12 jlw7v3 to my new 1200 watt hifonics amp?

Question

jl 12w7v3 has a single 3 ohm voice coil.

the w7 should recieve 750 rms up to 1000rms

my amp pushes

According to JL Audio. The optimum range for that sub is between 500 and 750 watts. At 750 watts you reach what JL calls the "danger zone." When you reach the 1000 watt mark you now enter the "warranty void" range.

I would wire the subs in parallel. At 1.5 ohms you would end up with around 525-550 watts per sub. That will be more than sufficient and it is about the best you can do with that amp.
