How should my two characters escape from an enternal damnation h**l like place?

Question

In my story two of my characters have to escape from a demonic h**l like world to warn everyone of an impending war. Only problem is, I've sorta made it very hard to escape. The main character is half angelic and the other is an angel. Angels but not in the religious sense but with differentish powers. Just imagine a angel and then think of one not with typical angelic powers.

How do they escape from what is basically.... h**l?

they have to trick someone else into taking there place in life

they have help from a freind they once knew that is sent to h**l for some reason (reasons is totally up to you), and with this freinds help they are able to find the gateway out of h**l and escape........is that good, hehe.
