  1. left foot and hand forward. later on you will learn to swap it around. Don't start with right hand out because it feels easier, you will develope very bad habits, hard to get rid off.

  2. Tru ThaiBoxer said just about everything you need.  I suggest giving him the Best Answer.  I will just add that your rear foot (right in the case of a right-handed boxer) should have only the underside of the toes in contact with the canvas, and the heel off the ground just about all the time.  You can vary more with the front foot.  If you ever get "rocked," (and, let's face it, you will, everybody does), the heel of your right foot will go down to the canvas and you will then bounce back in the forward direction, quite possibly saving you from a knockdown.  Just make sure you don't bounce right back into another oncoming glove, or you will double its impact.

  3. If your power hand is your right hand you should have the left foot out in front. The left hand will act as your jabbing hand to set up the power in your right hand. This type of stance would often be referred to as "orthodox" whereas if you have dominant power in your left hand you are considered a "South Paw" fighter. In that case your right foot would be out front and your right hand would be the jabbing hand setting up the left hand for power shots.
