How should they meet?

Next weekend I am going back home. My mom wants to meet my boyfriend. So he will be coming along too :D. But my mom is old fashioned and she wants me to marry a really nice guy with a really good job and positive attitude and I hope you get what I mean. But my boyfriend is goth and so he wears a lot of black and has piercings and wild hair. So I know when he meets my mom there's going to be a problem. She probably won't like him. But I really like him and I want to marry him. He does have a good attitude and doesn't act dead and isn't anti social. What should I do?

Whenever I brought home a guy like that. My mom would freak out. But I think you just need to give you're mom a little heads up that he is going to be far from expectation but not to judge him the second he walks through the door. And let her know how much you like him and that it would mean the world to you if you're nice to him and tried to talk to him rather than be deistracted my his image. If you're mom loves you, she will be glad that you're happy and try her best to accept him. Good luck :)

Send her a picture ahead of time, if you can, and describe what he looks like to her over the phone.  You can even let her talk to him on the phone, so she can HEAR what a great guy he his.  Tell her that you trust her to judge him by his character and not by his clothing.  Hopefullly, that'll make her not want to appear to be petty by focusing on some small detail like a bone through his nose.  LOL!  But most importantly, you have to relax and have a good time.  If your mom can see how comfortable and happy you are with him, maybe she'll accept him more readily.
