How should we change our Criminal Justice system to reduce the number of inmates in prison?

Crime is just going up. Sending people to jail doesn't seem to be "fixing" anyone. What can we do to make a system that won't discriminate by your color or the size of your wallet? How can we treat people instead of isolating them from the general population and putting them into a cycle of criminal activity?

  1. If we'd stop jailing people for minor drug offenses we'd reduce the prison population by a lot, I suspect.

  2. Stop jailing people for prostitution.

  3. More job training and actually making the prisoners work instead of letting them sit in their cells all day and thus they become dependant on the state. Have them be productive and the recidicism rate will drop I think.

  4. every dollar spent on education saves 5 dollars on prinsons

  5. may be all the way around..reducing number of inmates will reduce in size our swollen Criminal Justice system?

  6. extermination,,,,bring back the death penalty

  7. Fire 90% of our law enforcement.  Repeal 90% of our laws.  Tear down 90% of our prisons.

  8. pervs in generl public let them kill each  other   prob solved.

    same with gangbangers

    cop killers

    and wackjobs

  9. Analyze the reason most of them are there and make it legal. In the criminal justice system of today, the greatest contributor to crime is the law. Many , who are in prison, are there for what is essentially victimless crimes in that the only people that are hurt is themselves. (drugs mostly). Give them a support system and they won't bother anybody. After all everybody is entitled to go to h**l in their own way.

  10. kick the blacks and mexicans out of our country... I no that sounds racist, and it is... But seriously though! You cannot tell me that crime wouldnt go down if this happened.

  11. We could try to change the criminals thinking, you know, Actually teach them a lesson. most of them don't want to learn and even more people don't want waste their time trying to teach them. But with some effort we could convince them to stop because the scare thing and prison isn't really working anymore.

  12. enforcing the death penalty and doing away with "death row"

  13. there are alot of criminals behind bars because they need 2 b there but there are also those who dont deserve to b there my cousin a single mother was put in behind bars and her kids taken away and now is on 10yrs probation 4 accidently backing up 2 an elderly man at grocery store parking lot there were 2 suvs beside her and she couldnt see i was w her her husband just left her so she was lookig 4 a job becuz she had no ins they made it into a felony she didnt mean 2 i wouldnt tought that was civil matter not a criminal so the justice system is all screwd up

  14. DEATH PENALTY 99 PERCENT OF BRITAN WANT IT BACK

  15. Simple: enforce all the laws equally for each and every individual. Everyone would be treated the same, whether that person is a cop, a governor, the President, whomever.
