Question:

How should we define success?

I think the yardsticks of success that society measures us by is how happy we are, our success with the opposite s*x (being married), and our incomes. But which of these do you think carry more weight? Old bachelors are seen as less successful than old married men. People who win the lottery and win millions have been proven to be less happy than the rest of us in the middle class. People who are self-made millionaires are also about the same level of happiness as us. However, I dont think happiness is the only standard: if a couple is happily married, but are struggling financially and living in poverty, are they successful?

  1. This is one of the key questions each of us has to answer for ourselves as a matter of growing up.  What you define as success may mean little to nothing to my own personal experience but I respect your choice, as long as they dont have a negative impact on my life.
