Question:

How should you dispose of old tires?

I have about 50 old tires I need to get rid of. A friend recommended burning them, but with gas at $3 a gallon I think it would cost me a fortune. I was also thinking of just throwing them in the river. Any thoughts???

  1. Burning them or throwing them in a river just reserves you an 8x8 room in prison.

Call your local dump or tire recycle center.

  2. drop em off at a junk yard.

  3. Why not post a page on craigslist and give them away!

People will come and take them away for you!

  4. I like digitalchinkys answer!

I think anyone tossing their garbage into a river to get rid of it is an idiot and certainly not thinking about the future generations. Nice gift your leaving them.

Will tossing them in a river be solving the problem? Who's? Yours? While you create a much worse one for many others. I think the river is out I vote we all bring our old tires to your front yard! No difference in us making you deal with our rubbish either.

Burning them is illegal in many places. Go ahead lite um up no one will see them burning lol

  5. Sell them, or you could make tire swings and sell those

  6. Check with your local government, dump, and recycling centers. Some areas provide no-cost recycling for almost anything that you can bring to them. (They do where I live).

One option is to search google maps for "Local Area Recycling <zipcode>" to find local recycling centers.

Please don't discard them in a natural area or burn them. Try to find a recycle solution first.

  7. I throw my old ones in the lake. They make great breeding grounds for fish!

  8. do u mean into the same river u want to throw the old gas u have?,,,i think u are a provoke head..who enjoys getting people upset...at least i hope so...because no one could be as dumb as to do the things u talk about...oh...have a mice day

  9. Either take the to a recycle place or burn them.

It wouldnt take much gas. I wouldn't even use gas.

Use someting like diesel and oil mixed in the bottom tire.

Then stack the others on top, mabye 6 or 8 however much is stable.

The bottom one will make the ones above nurn.

Don't throw them in the river.

Wal-Mart might even take them, they take used oil.

  10. i used to like burning things, and once you get a tire going it burns so nicely rolling down the interstate or stuck to the top of a semi or suv when you toss them off an overpass.  This isnt fun for everyone, so I suggest that those who are more law abiding, or sedate could use them in the garden, they make nice raised beds for growing legal or illegal plants in your back yard.

  11. Ask your town.  They will take it off your hands for a fee.

  12. I "love" trolls that put out baiting answers.

I say you should burn them.  Wait until a brilliant, sunny, and WINDY day.  It's only going to take about one gallon of gas to get them going, so it's really not much money to spend.

Light them up!  Wait for that thick, black, acrid smoke to come pouring off of them.  Just stand back and admire your handiwork.

In fact you might want to mellow out after all the work of lighting those tires on fire, and light up a joint!

Just be sure to stand around and watch your handiwork....pretty soon some nice men with bright red and blue lights on their vehicles are going to show up to also admire your work.

You should punch one immediately, since they showed up after you went through all the work of stacking the tires.

Hope to see ya on the 5 o'clock news "buddy!"

  13. Burn them??? Are you crazy??? apart from the pollution you will probably burn half your suburb away.

Go to your nearest tire dealer and ask who collects their old tires, and ask them to come and collect them.  They will probably pay you for them.
