  1. It was pretty significant.  Although, not in the same way that it would be later --because other things were more important in high renaissance art:  form, content, structure, patterns of portrayed items. . .

    I personally believe that this time period of art was highly influenced by asian painting --which utilized multiples of objects and high depth layers in one piece.

    It might help you to try to find a definition you can understand of humanism.  I've used children's books and the idiot's guides on painting and it's helped me a lot to start my understanding from the ground up.  Maybe get some at the library on this topic and see if they help you to understand it a little more?
