How similar are these bike specs?

Could someone please help me figure out whether the first spec list is much better than the second? (Same size & frame.) I know next to nothing about bicycles, so I don't know whether I should pay more for the first bike. Thanks!

  1. The SECOND bike actually has a much better drivetrain, better hubs, better rims, and better fork. I usually prefer SRAM drivetrains but the combination bike #1 has is pretty bad.

I would go for the second bike.

  2. they both suck bad

  3. There are minor differences between them, the biggest being the front suspension. I'd get the second one if I was trying to save a bit of money, but the first seems to be slightly better, and probably would be worh an extra 40-50 dollars.

  4. These two bikes look fairly similar.  Nothing stands out as particularly great or horrific.

My suggestion is to forget about the pieces and parts and focus on how each bike feels when you ride it.  Take each one for a good long test ride, like an hour or more.  Then buy the one that feels best.

    Hope this helps.
