I have a cabin located in an area where we can not get any type of internet other then "dial up". Will I be able to play yahoo games on it if it is dial up? I've never used anything but DSL.....

Thanks

  1. Pretty slow and laggy. (lag means freeze) I recommed you get high speed. It's accaully cheaper and better.

  2. Maybe, depends..your computer might freeze a lot

  3. most dial-up connections are between 12 and 15 KB (kegabytes) per second. Most likely, you would be able to get satelite internet anywhere, although it is costly. (connection between 40 and 60 KBps if you're interested) but to answer the main question, yes, yahoo currently has no bandwidth minimum for games, but they will take significantly longer to load

  4. Maybe, but it won't be any fun! It will run very slow and freeze up a lot!

  5. You will be able to play yahoo games, I do over my cousin's all the time, and you will be able to do  everything else with dial-up, but your connection will be slow.

To give you an analogy you are driving on route 80 from new york, to california.  with dial-up you will be driving 1 mile per hour.  with dsl you will be driving 10 miles per hour, with cable or fiber optics you will be driving 100 miles per hour.  obviously driving 100 miles per hour to california you will get there faster, but even doing 1 miles per hour you will eventually get there.

  6. Dial up is slower than broadband, better to get broadband instead of dial up

  7. i feel sorry for you dial up is so bad

will take ages for anything to load

  8. First try driving in a car at its maximum speed.

Then try riding a bicycle by cycling fast, that is the difference

    .

If the games are flash based games then my advice to you is to use Avant browser.

This browser has the ability to save flash files so you can save the flash game after it has loaded.

If the game is java based then i don't know.

By the way use a Offline browser software to save the game website itself to you hard disk so that way you don't have to always go online to play:)
