How smart do you have to be to become a doctor?

Ive wanted to be a doctor since about first grade. I know getting into med school is pretty competitive. Im pretty smart (i think im 5th in my class and my GPA is 100 something) Im a Junior in High School right now so ill be deciding in a few years. But for people who have been through Premed and Medschool...how smart were you?

well first thing is if u want to become a doctor go for it cuz if u just think u want to become a doctor 50/50  then i think u will definatily fail chose want u want to be and stick to it oh and yes getting into med school is really really hard but try ur best and hopefully u will get there

i think u dnt really need to be smart. but u need to love science love the job and enjoy every part of it then u would be a great doctor.

your GPA cannot be 100.  in fact alot of doctors i see especially residents are not that smart.  it really just takes determination you just have to get through it. being a doctor has its downsides alot of your life is taken away.  and the MCATs are really hard.

its not how smart a person is but his perseverance, persistance, and determination to be doctor is what counts. if that's what you aim and would love to become, you will be a good doctor......go for it, mate!
