How soon after I break out into hives should I go to the ER?

Well, now you're 11 hours into it... so hopefully you have done something about it.  

Only when you start experiencing difficulty breathing should you go to the ER.  Hives are a minor issue of skin irritation that is almost never life threatening by themselves.  Find out what the hives are from and limit exposure.  In the meantime, 2 Benadryl should help out quite nicely.

i would take some benandryl first or the ER will charge you $250 to do just that cause believe me that is the first thing they will do.

take a zyrtec, its the best anti-hive medicine and its over the counter. it starts working within two hours.
